Prof. Solomon is a lecturer in the Department of Soil Science, University of Calabar. She is an astute consultant in Environmental Microbiology for a number of projects such as Trans-Niger Delta Oil pipeline from Rumuekpe to Bonu in Rivers State, Environmental Baseline Studies for oil fields commissioned by Shell Development Company of Nigeria, 2004.

She is a Consultant to both the Cross-River State, NIPC projects and the Federal government on a number of agricultural projects for commercial crops production and export (1999-2007). She has also served as Consultant to the U. S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in Nigeria – sustainable practices in Agriculture for critical environments (SPACE), 2004. Her contributions in the field of microbiology concerning water, soil and air are recognized in the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria.
